Information only, not advice

Everything on this site is general information for educational purposes. It is not engineering, electrical, EMC, compliance, safety, legal or other professional advice.

Do not use this site to specify, select, calibrate, set up or operate an ESD simulator or test system, or to decide whether a product complies with a standard. Follow the manufacturer's instructions, the edition of each standard your test plan cites, your accreditation and customer requirements, and the judgment of a qualified engineer. The summaries of standards here are simplified and may not match the current edition.

Check before you rely on it

The content may be incomplete, out of date or wrong for your application. Figures, ranges and examples are for illustration. Confirm everything with the manufacturer, the standard itself or a qualified professional before you rely on it.

Safety

ESD simulators produce high voltages. A discharge can startle the operator, damage the equipment under test and ignite flammable vapors. Anyone with a pacemaker or other implanted medical device should get medical advice before working near ESD testing. Follow the manufacturer's safety instructions, your lab's high-voltage procedures and the occupational safety rules that apply to you. Nothing on this site replaces them.

Quotes and suppliers

A quote request you send may be passed to suppliers who can meet it. Any quote, product, recommendation or service comes from the supplier who responds, and any agreement is between you and that supplier alone. Confirm specifications, suitability, pricing and terms directly with them.

No warranties

This site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the operator of this site is not liable for any loss, damage, injury, failed test, damaged product, rework, delay or other claim that arises from using or relying on this site, its content, or any supplier you are put in touch with.

Trademarks and third parties

Product and company names mentioned in general terms belong to their owners. References to third parties are for convenience and are not endorsements.

Changes

We may update this page at any time. If you keep using the site, you accept the current version.
